Counting visitors for a better management!

A network of optical sensors installed throughout the territory count the number of people that visit points of tourist interest which do not charge entrance fees (e.g. castles and walking trails). The information is analysed and reported through a Web interface.

How does it work?

This system provides the following insights:
– Find patterns and groups of visitors.
– Compute correlations between different touristic attractions.
– Measure the impact of event organisation and advertisement campaigns on the number of visitors.
– Create mathematical models that allows the prediction of the number of visitors.

The result is an innovative tourism management platform that contributes towards a more efficient use of the existing infrastructure and resources.
